Bill Dahlquist has found his niche caring for seniors in the Denver area. First hand experience with this field inspired Bill to pursue a career with Home Instead Senior Care. When Bill was not in the courtroom as a Deputy Douglas County Attourney in Omaha, NE, he spent time caring for his aunt. "I was prosecuting caregivers all while being a caregiver," Dahlquist explained. He was enlightened to the struggles that families go through to allow elderly relatives to remain in their homes. Through the care of his aunt, Dahlquist was motivated to make a career change. "I was surprised with the way that my aunt accepted the caregivers, and how she really enjoyed having them around," said Dahlquist. He purchased the Denver and Lakewood Home Instead Senior Care franchises soon thereafter.
Bill's family instilled through action the importance of caring for others. Both parents engaged in careers focused on serving the community. His mother, Catherine, devoted countless hours to charitable work while serving many roles in the state government. His father, Horton, served as Omaha's Fire Chief from 1981-1990. He is forever grateful for his parents, and firmly believes he would not being doing what he is today without their former guidance.
Bill earned his Bachelor's Degree in speech from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1990. He subsequently graduated from Creighton University Law in 1994. In 2008, Bill was appointed by the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to the Home Care Agency Advisory Committee to help develop rules and regulations for home care in Colorado. He was appointed by the Governor to the Colorado Alzheimer's Coordinating Council whose purpose is to develop a plan to address the increase in the incidence of Alzheimers in the state.
