"We didn't invent the idea of senior care, since it's been around in families or other forms for generations," Paul said. "But we did start the non-medical senior care industry." Lori agrees: "We've taken one of the oldest "businesses" - senior care, which people have always done - and turned it into something that people could make into a career," she said.
Paul's move in December 2005 from President to CEO was intended to help keep the Home Instead Senior Care franchise network at the forefront of the global senior care industry, and to enable him to play a bigger role in guiding and impacting industry-related legislation. In his words, as CEO, he will concentrate "more of his energies and efforts on developing the senior care industry and the Home Instead Senior Care brand."
