A standing ovation is considered the highest form of praise and recognition, taking applause to the next level. Each month, we celebrate Care Professionals who have gone above and beyond in their roles and lift them up with a Standing Ovation. Care Pro Standing Ovations
Sandi

Standing Ovation - Sandi O.

After being the primary caregiver for her husband, Sandi understands what family caregivers go through.  After Sandi’s husband passed away, Sandi was looking for a way to connect and make a difference in the lives of others.  Sandi’s huge heart and willingness to do whatever it takes makes her invaluable to her clients and their families.  Whether caring for a couple with unique care needs or connecting with a client with dementia, Sandi’s positive energy is a blessing wherever she goes.

Helen

Standing Ovation - Helen H.

While Helen has not been with Home Instead for long, she has made quite an impact in a short time.  Helen has worked hard to get where she is with the support of others and is eager to give others that same level of support.  When asked what makes her happy, Helen replied “Helping Others.”  Helen has made it known from day one that she wants to make a difference in the lives of others and has demonstrated that with every client she has cared for whether providing companionship to a client, or helping them cope with declining health.

Pat

Standing Ovation - Pat B.

Pat’s journey with Home Instead was not like most.  Drafted by her daughter to help a beloved client needing around the clock care, Pat jumped in to help without hesitation.  Once Pat joined Home Instead, that was it…she was hooked.  Pat’s warm smile and  ability to connect have made her invaluable to her client and family.  Pat’s client once commented that Pat was more like a friend than a caregiver, feeling she could count on her for anything.

Ethel

Standing Ovation - Ethel T.

Ethel’s ability to provide a calming influence on those around her makes her invaluable to her client.  Having been a CNA for many years, working with individuals with dementia, Ethel understands the importance of listening to what is and is not being said and finding the best solution for her client.  Ethel’s selflessness is evident by her desire to retire but forgoing that decision because she does not want to leave her client.

Wanda

Standing Ovation - Wanda B.

When Wanda joined Home Instead, she was just looking for a few hours a week, but once she realized the impact she was having on the clients she served, she could not say no.  Her infectious smile and genuine interest in how she can make someone’s day better are obvious in all she does.  She will drop what she is doing at a moments notice if she thinks she can be of help, always looking for creative solutions to a problem.

Brenda

Standing Ovation - Brenda C.

Having worked in Child Care for more than 30 years before joining Home Instead, there is no doubt that Brenda has a kind and compassionate heart.  When you first meet Brenda, you feel as though you are connecting with an old friend.  Brenda’s true desire to know how she can help others is reflected in everything she does.  She has never met a stranger and is beloved by every client and family she has served.

Perkins Naomi

Standing Ovation - Naomi P.

Prior to joining Home Instead, Naomi spent 26 years as a Social Worker so listening and connecting with people is engrained in Naomi’s nature.   When working with her clients, Naomi is able to read between the lines of what the client is saying and determine what they really mean and is able to provide greater care as a result.  This skill is particularly valuable when she works with her clients with cognitive decline, letting the conversation go wherever it needs to. Naomi’s clients are so connected to her, it’s Naomi or no one!

The word that describes Naomi is compassionate.  Naomi is quick to put the needs of others ahead of her own, sometimes to her own detriment. She has the ability to empathize and connect with people in a very genuine, unobtrusive way.
