There are many amazing senior resources in our community. By highlighting these resources, we aim to educate not only our clients but all seniors and families in the area, ensuring everyone has access to the support they need.
Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions (MCEF) has been assisting our neighbors in need since 1976. Today, over 40 churches in Mechanicsville, along with businesses and individuals, combine their resources through MCEF.
MCEF helps families referred by churches or the Hanover Department of Social Services, especially those living paycheck to paycheck who have little or no savings. Monetary donations to MCEF help pay essential bills, preventing utility cut-offs or evictions. Additionally, churches, organizations, individuals, and businesses contribute clothing, linens, and non-perishable foods to keep the MCEF closets and food pantry well-stocked.
