Your local Home Instead is looking for folks with the heart, leadership, and patience that is needed to provided one-on-one care for the seniors in our community. Our Care Professionals help provide the necessary services to help our clients live happy, healthy, and as independent as possible in the luxury of their own home. The services you provide include tasks such as companionship & conversation, meal preparation, safety assistance, light housekeeping, assistance with personal care, transportation, and dementia care.

While many of our clients do live in the DeKalb & Sycamore area, we do require all applicants to be willing to work shifts with clients living within 30-40min of DeKalb in order to meet your desired weekly hours. **You must have your driver's license, active car insurance, and your own vehicle that you'll drive to/from shifts & drive clients in, in order to be eligible for hire.

Availability We Are Looking For:

  • 7am-2pm M-F & Every Other Weekend (part-time)
  • 7am-9pm M-F & Every Other Weekend (full-time)

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to your assigned clients living within 30-40min of DeKalb
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) and chart tasks as they are completed
- Provide medication reminders and document that they were taken
- Implement care plans and follow protocols for individuals with specific needs, such as dementia care
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for you and the client
- Engage in meaningful interactions and activities with clients to promote socialization and well-being

Skills:
- Experience in direct support systems or caregiving roles is preferred, but not a requirement as long as you are willing to learn
- Experience with dementia care is preferred, but not a requirement as long as you are willing to learn
- Time management and self-awareness to stay on track while working with a client
- Proficiency in oral and written English to keep clear communication and charting
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments
