February 2024 Care Pro of the Month: Jane M.

Jane has done an outstanding job in her commitment to client care! She is very dedicated to the clients she sees and builds a special relationship with every client. January 2024 Care Pro of the Month: Jaraka H.

Jaraka is a caregiving champion! She has done a terrific job remaining calm and patient in some challenging caregiving situations. She approaches tough situations with kindness and compassion. She has built trust with clients and their families. She is dependable and has provided help with several last-minute shifts to ensure clients receive the care they need. Jaraka is hardworking and dedicated. Thank you, Jaraka!

2023 Care Professional of the Year: Laurie V.

The first words that come to mind when thinking about Laurie are kindness and patience. Laurie is incredibly kind to everyone. She has a special way of making everyone feel valued and appreciated. Laurie is patient and is accustomed to working with clients experiencing varying symptoms of dementia. She understands their changing behaviors and can respectfully redirect them when needed. 

Laurie is an exemplary Care Professional. She regularly goes above and beyond for clients as well as our office. Laurie welcomes the opportunity to see new clients and communicates feedback to our office. Many times over the past year, Laurie has been the first Care Pro a new client meets. She sets a professional and positive tone for the client’s experience at Home Instead. She informs our office of any updates needed to the client’s care plan and reports helpful information to benefit other Care Pros seeing the same client later on that day or week. We can depend on Laurie to do a great job and communicate updates or concerns. 

A couple of years ago, I had the honor of introducing Laurie to a new Home Instead client. The client was very anxious and felt overwhelmed by what needed to be done in her apartment. She was worried about managing her appointment book and felt that the housekeeping in her apartment was too much for her to manage. Upon arriving on the first shift, our new client began to tell Laurie and me all of the things she needed to do. As she listed these items, it was evident she was becoming more and more anxious and upset. Her eyes began to well up with tears and Laurie, ever so gently, knelt beside the woman in her chair, took her hand, looked into her eyes, and told her, “It is all going to be alright – I am here, and I will help you. Don’t worry about anything. We will get it all done. I am here.” The woman immediately started shaking her head yes and smiling. She squeezed Laurie’s hand and confidently said, “Okay, I trust you.” To see how quickly Laurie had established trust with this client, in a matter of minutes, was heartwarming and inspiring. 

Our office is confident when Laurie is scheduled to see a new client. We know she will do just as she did that day two years ago, she will warmly respond to the client and their family and assure them that it will all be alright. No matter what the client is experiencing, Laurie provides reassurance that together it will be okay. She eases their fears and helps bring peace to their day. She provides comfort and gives endless compassion to clients and their families. 

Laurie is reliable and dedicated to client care. She has done an outstanding job and we are honored to have her in our Home Instead family. We greatly value her and appreciate all she does for our clients and our office. Congratulations to Laurie, our 2023 Care Professional of the Year!

December 2023 Care Pro of the Month: Sheryl C.

Sheryl does an outstanding job caring for clients. Clients love having Sheryl as their Care Pro and request her to please come back and see them anytime. She does a phenomenal job building trust and creating a connection with clients and their families. Sheryl has been very helpful with shifts and adapting her schedule to meet clients’ needs. We appreciate Sheryl and thank her for all she does!

November 2023 Care Pro of the Month: Sheree H.

Sheree has been on our team for over 6 years and continues to provide highly dedicated care to clients. Sheree takes caregiving seriously and has done an outstanding job being there for clients. Recently when clients’ needs increased, Sheree stepped up and increased her own availability to work with the clients to ensure their needs were always met. Sheree is proactive and gives heartfelt care. Congrats and great job, Sheree!

October 2023 Care Pro of the Month: Cheri W.

Cheri does an awesome job in caring for clients! She has been so helpful this year in picking up shifts with clients and has an open heart to seeing new clients. Cheri has a great willingness to help, gives compassionate care, and has done a great job in establishing a connection and trust with clients and their families quickly. September 2023 Care Pro of the Month: Robin M.

Robin provides gentle and thoughtful care for our clients. Robin has done a tremendous job in caring for clients living with dementia, demonstrating great understanding, patience, and compassion. Barb has been on our Home Instead team for over 13 years and gives compassionate and reliable care to our clients. Barb is passionate about caregiving and takes each client into her heart. Deborah is an amazing example of a great care pro. She works overnights but often comes in hours before her shift to help. She puts in hours of overtime, trains other care pros, and is always asked to return by the clients she helps. Deborah, thank you for all that you do. It is noticed!

Care Professional of the Month: Penny

Congratulations to our Caregiver of the Month, Penny H.! Penny puts her whole heart into caring for others. She is committed to clients and works hard to ensure their needs are met. Penny connects with clients quickly and establishes trust. Penny is attentive and notices every detail. Penny recognizes what’s important to clients and works to honor their wishes. Penny puts clients’ needs first. During a winter storm, Penny worked an overnight shift and volunteered to come back to the client's home later that morning to ensure the client received continuous care and to prevent others from going out during the inclement weather. Penny ended up staying with the client for over 24 hours to ensure the client was never alone and received comforting care during a stormy day and night. Penny cares very much for clients and it’s evident through her caregiving. Thank you, Penny!

Congratulations, Faith! Faith is our Caregiver of the Month and we are thankful to have Faith on our Home Instead team! Faith builds wonderful relationships with clients and their families.
